Red Cross Pharmacy, like other retail pharmacies, complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy regulations.

 

It requires each healthcare provider to have its policies and procedures put in place that provide safeguards to keep patient information confidential.

 

All health care providers are required to maintain the privacy of its customers Protected Health Information (PHI) and to provide its customers with a notice of its legal duties and privacy practices with respect to PHI. PHI is personal information, including basic demographic information, that may identify a specific customer that relates to past, present or future physical or mental health or condition and related health care services.

 

The Notice of Privacy Practices (Notice) describes how we may use and disclose PHI about our customers to carry out treatment, payment or health care operations and for other specified purposes and describes your rights with respect to PHI about you.
